Attic with a view
of the Ampezzo Valley
A couple’s minimalistic and frill-free haven
This spacious attic is located inside a well-maintained building from the sixties. It has been demolished and reconstructed in wood according to the eco-friendly standards and has a breathtaking view of Cortina and the Dolomites peaks.
VP architects realized the interior design by paying attention to the smallest details while collaborating very closely with the homeowners, whose keen eye and essential taste steered the decision-making process. The result is an unusual house, different from the traditional mountain houses because of its linear shapes, sober furnishings, as well as the use of oak wood for floors and panelling.
Oak wood was also used for the custom-made furniture, which often blends seamlessly with the panelling. At the couple’s request, VP architects used and positioned discreetly the furnishings and decorative accessories which belonged to their childhood homes.
The positioning neither overcrowds the space nor detracts from the spectacular panorama that enters the house through the windows, adding beauty to every daily action.
